AMX by HARMAN Makes Audio Configuration and Operation Easier with Rapid Project Maker Update

Support for AMX, BSS and Crown Devices Simplifies Audio, Video and Control Integration

LAS VEGAS—AMX by HARMAN is furthering its commitment to simplifying the installation and use of technology across a variety of markets by announcing several exciting enhancements to the AMX Rapid Project Maker® (RPM) cloud-based configuration tool. Since its release in 2012, the industry-leading RPM configuration software has continued to expand in capabilities, allowing integrators, AV/IT technicians and AV/IT support teams the ability to configure AMX control and switching devices without having to learn custom programming.

In this new set of updates, AMX is extending this support by providing tools to simply the commissioning of HARMAN Professional Solutions audio, video and control devices directly from within RPM’s new HTML5-based Configuration Manager tool. “Instead of an install technician having use advanced tools like NetLinx Studio or Audio Architect to troubleshoot or make minor adjustments to the system, we wanted to provide a tool that they could pull up on their tablet, mobile device or tablet that gives them the details and access they need to do diagnostics and commissioning quickly and easily,” said Justin Kennedy, Product Manager, Software at HARMAN Professional Solutions. “RPM’s new Configuration Manager provides that.”

This expanded capability began with RPM version 2.5, available now, which allowed integrators to use the BSS BLU-103 Conferencing Processor in RPM-controlled spaces without the use of HiQnet® Audio Architect software. Once the RPM program is deployed to the room system, integrators can make any necessary adjustments to the audio settings on the BSS BLU-103 via a simple, HTML5-based configuration page.

Other features within Rapid Project Maker v.2.5 include:
  • Major Enhancements to the RPM Configuration Manager on the master's web pages
  • Support for AMX Modero X® G5 retractable 10 inch touch panel and AMX HydraPort Touch 7 and 10 inch panels
  • New “RoomBook-style” scheduling panel interface theme
  • Enhanced integration with AMX Resource Management Suite® (RMS), including the ability for RPM macros to be exposed in RMS and enhanced PDU reporting in RMS

AMX is continuing this simplification of configuration and operation with the newly-announced RPM version 2.6. This upcoming release of RPM adds support for more audio, video and control devices, including support for audio devices such the AMX Alero Web Conferencing Mixer as well as network or serial-controlled amplifiers. Initially, the release will support the AMX SV-AMP-1 amplifier with support for Crown amplifiers expected shortly thereafter.

AMX Rapid Project Maker v.2.6 also includes support for now shipping AMX My Turn™ Source Selector Buttons. When used in conjunction with an AMX Solecis® Digital Switcher, AMX RPM allows users to initialize room macros at the press of a My Turn button installed on a cable.

AMX RPM v2.6 is expected to be released in late August 2016.
