China's Giant Screen Cinema Systems Powered By HARMAN's Crown And JBL

SHANGHAI, China - China's answer to the multiple-story Theatres across the globe, the Giant Screen System is quickly developing following with nearly 10 screens throughout the country.  Independently researched and developed by industry leading cinema experts in China, multiple cinema groups in the country have expressed interest in installing the theatre solutions, with about 30 additional screens forecasted in 2012.  China International Cineplex in Heifei, Anhui and the Shanghai Film Art Center have recently installed the Giant Screens with a sound system supported by HARMAN's JBL and Crown.

Installed in the China International Cineplex are multiple JBL speakers, including three JBL 5742 cinema loudspeakers are hung for the main speakers, while 18 AC2212 compact 2-way loudspeakers are hung for surround sound.  Twelve JBL 8350 cinema sound speakers line the ceiling. 

Multiple Crown amplifiers power the International Cineplex system, including three CNi-6000 main bass amps, three CNi-2000's main high amps, and two CNi-4000's for secondary bass amplifiers.  The surround sound, back corner and ceiling effects were powered by six additional CNi-2000's.

The Shanghai Film Art Center also boasts a JBL system powered by Crown, including five JBL 5672 loudspeakers for the main speaker, 42 AC2212 for the left and right surround fill and ceiling effects as well, 12 4645C and two 4518subwoofers for secondary bass, two 4722N 2-way loudspeakers for additional surround effects. 

Twenty-eight Crown DSi2000's and five DSi4000 and two DSi6000 amplifiers power the Shanghai Film Art Center's cinema. 

The Giant screen is 20x12 meters, with a luminance of 36,000LM.  Its HARMAN sound system provides a 13.1-channel system.
